Volunteer FAQs

  1. Do I need any special skills or experience to volunteer? Nope. We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and skill levels. If you are willing to show up and pitch in, you belong here.
     

  2. How do I sign up for a shift? All shifts are posted on our Volunteer signup system. You can find the link on our Linktree at linktr.ee/thehavenpdxvolunteers.
     

  3. What should I wear? Comfortable clothes you do not mind getting a little dirty. Depending on the shift, you may be setting up furniture, cleaning, or working an event. Closed-toe shoes are always a good call.
     

  4. What if I need to cancel a shift? Life happens. Just let us know as soon as possible by emailing volunteers@thehavenpdx.com or messaging in Discord so we can find coverage.
     

  5. How will I know when new shifts or projects are available? Through our volunteer newsletter and Discord server. Make sure you are subscribed and connected so nothing slips by.
     

  6. Is there a minimum time commitment? No minimum. You can volunteer for a single shift or show up every week. We are just glad to have you whenever you are available.
